Applications are now open for entry to Southend High School for Boys during the 2025–26 academic year.
Please see the information below for details of the process and upcoming testing dates, and use the relevant online form to apply for Year 7 or Years 8–11 entry.

Southend High School for Boys manages a process for filling any vacancies that may arise during Years 8–11 (and after 31 December of Year 7).

Testing Dates – Academic Year 2025–26

Entrance Testing Notice

Testing will only take place when a space is available in the relevant year group.  You will be notified in writing if tests are to go ahead.
Applicants will be notified two school weeks prior to the test date if testing is scheduled to go ahead.

• Years 8, 9, 10 & 11:
  Wednesday 15th April 2026 (subject to change)
  (Please note that Year 11 applicants will only be tested where the family has recently moved into the local area.)

• Year 7:
  Thursday 22nd January 2026 (subject to change)
  Thursday 9th July 2026 (subject to change)
