You have the right to statutory appeal if you have applied to this school (whether into Year 7, in-year or Sixth Form), but are refused a place and should put any appeal in writing to the Headteacher c/o the Clerk to the Governors at the school at admissions@shsb.org.uk

Year 7 (11+) Appeals (September 2024 entry)

Following National Offer Day on 1st March 2024, if you wish to appeal against non-admission, you should notify the Headteacher in writing as soon as possible and by Friday 15th March 2024 at the latest (email: admissions@shsb.org.uk).  Please provide your email and home address. (Please note, there is no need at this notification stage to outline the reason for your appeal.)

Information about the appeals process and the appeal form will be sent out on Monday 18th March 2024 to all those who have indicated, in writing, their intention to appeal.

The deadline for appellants to lodge their written appeal (using the appeal form sent to them) is Monday 15th April.  Appeals will be held on 7th, 8th and 10th May 2024 (these are provisional dates).

Please note, if your appeal documentation is received after 15th April 2024, your appeal may not be heard before the end of the Summer term.

 

Admission Appeals timetable 

The deadline for lodging written appeals will be at least 20 school days from the date of notification that an application was unsuccessful.  Appellants will be given at least 10 school days' notice of the date of their appeal hearing. In-year appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.
